As Jesus prepares for the cross, He reveals to His disciples the power and purpose for which He has come. He discloses that Peter will deny Him – yet assures them all that their relationship with the Father is secure through the bridal union with Him that will be made possible through the work of the cross. It is a total act of God’s grace and mercy – secured by the blood of Jesus Christ. We have been made free.
